Perusahaan yang memiliki pabrik produksi masker di Kasihan, Bantul, ini menyumbang sebanyak dua karton surgical mask agar digunakan jurnalis Harian Jogja dan grup  seperti Solopos sebagai alat pelindung diri selama menjalankan tugas-tugas di lapangan.

“Terutama jurnalis yang meliput kasus Corona di tempat-tempat berisiko penularan,” kata  Direktur Purchasing PT Maesindo Indonesia Thomas  Antoro yang datang menyerahkan langsung dua karton masker bedah ke kantor Harian Jogja, Senin (16/3).

Bantuan kepada jurnalis Harian Jogja dan Solopos ini diharapkan bisa menciptakan kondisi kerja jurnalis yang tetap aman dengan tetap siaga wabah Corona. Jurnalis, ujar Antoro, merupakan garda terdepan pemberi informasi dan edukasi yang benar kepada masyarakat luas, sehingga hasil kerjanya bisa membendung banjir hoaks di tengah kepanikan masyarakat atas wabah Corona.

“Ini sebagai tanggung jawab sosial kami di tengah irasionalitas pasar. Agar jurnalis tetap terlindungi dalam meliput kasus Corona,” kata Antoro.

Menurut Antoro, di tengah panic buying yang menyebabkan masker langka dan harga masker tak masuk akal, PT Maesindo telah berusaha menggelar operasi pasar dengan mengedrop masker ke 200 apotek di Jogja.

Pasokan masker ini diberikan ke apotek dengan syarat harus dijual sesuai harga pasar normal yakni Rp2.000 per lembar atau Rp10.000 per 5 pcs. “Kami mengedrop barang ke apotek dengan syarat khusus. Pembeli harus menunjukkan KTP, dan maksimal beli lima pcs untuk satu orang,” kata Antoro.

Direktur Komersial PT Maesindo, Purwadi Istiyanto, menambahkan di tengah irasionalitas pasar terhadap produk-produk pelindung diri, PT Maesindo ingin membantu masyarakat dengan menggelar operasi pasar dan pemberian cuma-cuma masker ke sejumlah stakeholder.  Perusahaan pers menjadi salah satu sasaran bantuan.

Walau di tengah situasi material bahan baku pembuatan masker yang juga sulit didapat, kata dia, PT Maesindo tetap berusaha menjual sesuai harga normal dan menyumbang masker ke pihak-pihak yang membutuhkan namun kesulitan mendapatkannya. “Ini bentuk kegiatan tanggung jawab sosial perusahaan,” ujar Istiyanto yang turut datang ke kantor Harian Jogja menyerahkan sumbangan masker.

Di DIY, PT Maesindo sudah menyumbang  masker ke Dinas Kesehatan Bantul, Polres Bantul, Polda DIY dan LBH UII.

Pemimpin Redaksi Anton Wahyu Prihartono sangat mengapresiasi pemberian masker dari PT Maesindo. Di tengah pandemi Corona,  Harian Jogja tetap berusaha menjaga jurnalis yang bekerja di lapangan dan bertemu bermacam narasumber dari berbagai latar belakang dengan menyediakan masker. Penggunaan masker selama liputan di kawasan berisiko penularan seperti di rumah sakit, telah menjadi protokol peliputan di tengah wabah Covid-19.

“Tapi masker sudah menjadi barang langka. Kalaupun ada harganya sudah tidak rasional. Bantuan ini sangat membantu keamanan kerja jurnalis kami di lapangan,” kata Anton.
